D R A G O N - FLY
COLLECTION
Dragon-Fly is the first collection of Maria Jäger under her own name and refers to the ZERO movement of the ‘60s. It stands for “zero hour”, free from overloading and overcharging.
ZERO describes a condition of renewal and silence; an intermediate zone in which an old condition changes into a new phase. The outfit unites the woman, space and light into one entity.
The key focus thereby is the play with light, shadow and movement.
A new puristic aesthetic is created and every look becomes unique by its wearer.
Transparent fabrics like silk organza, chiffon and tulle convey a feeling of facileness, elegance and sensuality.
One source of inspiration for this collection were insects, because of their perfect combination of beauty, originality, light and shadow. The lightness of a wing and the security of a cocoon are implemented in every design and pay homage to nature.
MARE PROFONDO

Born of the sea foam...
For this collection I was inspired by the sea and its creatures as well as the so often quoted Greek mythology with its everlasting reference to the sea.
In the MARE PROFONDO collection our silk fabric straps are processed into a sculptural structure and create a new Medusa. Haute couture lace encases the body like algae and sea flowers. Fine tulle skirts evoke Venus, born of the sea foam.
Transparent shiny fabrics like silk organza, chiffon and tulle convey a feeling of flowing lightness and elegance. Lots of volume and elaborately processed hems let the wearer almost float and emphasize each of her movements. The material and colour selection is inspired by transparent shiny fish and other sea creatures like the jellyfish in their transparent weightless beauty.
Roots & Stones
COLLECTION
STRUCTURE, VOLUME, PLASTICITY ...
In the Roots & Stones Collection I focused on my Romanian roots and the traditional craft techniques such as cross stitch, smocking techniques and the manufacturing of tassels and ribbons. The traditional techniques are transformed into a contemporary style and applied on elegant materials.
The shape of the dresses is inspired by rock formations, craggy stones and twining roots. Large opulent sleeves accentuate this silhouette. All the looks are wide-cut and allow plenty of freedom to move and unfold. In contrast, the use of fine, high-quality silk, which perfectly clings to the body despite is width, creates an elegant and sublime look.
The traditional Romanian costume colours ruby red, ebony and ivory are used for the collection. These colours are complemented by a silver brown and an aprico powder.
